The World's Smallest Solar Powered Movie Theater

Posted: 14 Dec 2010 05:28 AM PST

Sol Cinema is the smallest solar powered cinema in the world. It works on solar energy and only 8 adults can fit inside it. Movies are shown on a LED projector.
The UK-based Sol Cinema is 100% powered by the Sun. They say:

"The U.K. isn't famous for sunny days, yet we still manage to run our entire cinema, including video projectors, sound systems, laptops, hard drives and lights from the energy of the sun via solar panels. This means we have no utility bill each year and can perform anywhere at anytime."

The film projector they use is powered by four large lithium-ion batteries that are charged by two 120W solar panels. Sol Cinema refrains from showing anything that glorifies violence or is "too mainstream". They tell customers to think more "Michael Moore rather than Demi Moore".

Mummified Vampire Heart is for Sale on Ebay

Posted: 14 Dec 2010 03:03 AM PST

Here is the description of the item:

We bring you the mummified heart of the vampire Auguste Delagrange. Before his destruction in 1912 Delagrange was responsible for the deaths of over forty people during one of the worst outbreaks of vampirism in the United States. He was eventually identified and hunted down by a Roman Catholic priest and a Voodoo Hougan. The pair began systematically destroying nests and minions, forcing Delagrange to take refuge in an abandoned farmhouse on the outskirts of a small town in Louisiana. It was there that a stake was driven through his heart and his body destroyed, consigning his soul to it's inevitable end. All that remains is the heart you see before you.

The vampire's dessicated heart and the stake that destroyed him are stored in a box of finger jointed oak that measures approximately 5" high, 8" wide, and 11" long. The plaque on top of the box notes the day Delagrange was destroyed and appears to be hand lettered, consistent with the time period.

If you've always wanted to own a little piece of vampiric history you'll be happy to learn that the mummified vampire heart and all it's accoutrements are available on Ebay, just in time for the holidays.
