The Progress We've Made

In the early hours of September 15, 2008 Lehman Brothers announced it would file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and it sent shock waves through the global economy -- ultimately shrinking the economy by more than 10% and costing us more than 800,000 jobs a month with devastating implications for families and businesses.

In the five years since, we've made incredible progress as a country. And so while there's still more work to be done, we've asked senior staff from across the Obama administration to sit down and talk about the moments when key decisions were made -- the factors they weighed, and the results of the actions that President Obama took.
