Hotel For The Dead Opens In Japan

Posted: 15 Sep 2011 02:16 PM PDT

A Tokyo non-profit has opened a storage facility for corpses awaiting funerals. It's billed as a "business hotel for the dead." The LISS Center Shin-Kiba facility, which is run by funeral-arranging non-profit LISS System, can store up to 37 bodies in rooms with antibacterial lights, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported Monday. The rooms cost $88 per night and the center also offers assistance with arranging for morticians and setting up funerals.

"Bereaved families usually are rushed to decide on a mortician and often have problems later regarding the funeral," said Nyokai Matsushima of LISS System. "We want the families to have time to think, so they can decide on a satisfactory ceremony while their deceased relatives have a place to rest (temporarily) at our 'business hotel.'"

Tour Inside Titanic - 1912

Posted: 15 Sep 2011 11:05 AM PDT

Titanic was a passenger liner that struck an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City, and sank on 15 April 1912, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.

The interior of the R.M.S. Titanic was lavish. It offered every luxury that could be enjoyed in 1912. After the mechanics of the ship, the interior was the most detailed. Hand carved oak, teak and maple woodwork was everywhere. Only the most lavish furniture was used. The bathrooms were finished in the most modern style of the times complete with showers, bath tubs and double sinks. There was even flushing toilets on board the ship. Huge dinning rooms sat several hundred and after a good meal passengers could retire to one of the several smoking lounges for drinks and cards.

There was a complete, up-to-date gymnasium for workouts and even a regulation sized indoor swimming pool. There were clothing shops, a barbershop and a beauty salon. Racketball courses were on deck along with areas for other games. The Titanic was the most luxurious ocean liner ever built at the time. The following are photos taken of the ship's interior right after it was built and shortly before it sailed. Step back in time and view inside the Titanic.

Employee of the month for sure! Have you ever seen someone balance so many cups before? This server at a tea house in Iran is actually on his A-game. He can stack 15 saucers and cups on his hands and arms, fill them with hot tea, and then serve them to guests that's about as useful as a "trick" can get.

Chinglish: English Translations Gone Wrong

Posted: 14 Sep 2011 07:24 PM PDT

Most of these English grammar errors are coming from China, guess they have a cult dedicated to Google Translator over there. "Chinglish" is a combination of Chinese and English. This word is often used by local Chinese people as a light hearted joke. They know and understand their English is not perfect, and they don't mind joking about it from time to time... They are happy people.
